Metalsmithing Basics: 3 Day intensive 7/11-7/13 or 8/8-8/10

Do you have dreams of becoming a jewelry artist? Then our 3 day intensive course is perfect for gaining the skills you need! Students enrolled in this course will become acquainted with a broad range of tools, materials and techniques. Learn the fundamentals of sawing, soldering, texturing, forming, bezel setting, wax carving and sandcasting in this hands on jewelry making workshop. Designed for beginners, this course will guide you through essential silversmithing techniques while you create at least 3 handcrafted pieces of jewelry, including a cuff bracelet, bezel set ring, wax carving and sandcasting. Whether you're new to metalsmithing or looking to refine your skills, this Hood River silversmithing class is the perfect place to start! If you are traveling from afar, our beautiful town has many great lodging options and things to do, and we are happy to provide recommendations. Ages 16 and up. Price includes all equipment, base metals, and 1 ounce of sterling silver. Friday-Sunday 9:00-4:00 with 1 hour lunch break. Session July 11-13 or August 8-10
